Hitting the gym or pounding the pavement sometimes gets dull and boring, but you know you still have to work off that indulgent meal you had from one of our recommended places.
Take a break from the usual attractions and head to the great outdoors and work out a sweat. Here’s our list of fun things to do in Singapore that we discovered recently. We’re a little bit behind with the times as you can see some of the items we’ve listed has been around for a fairly long time.
1. Quarry Rock Climbing @ Dairy Farm
If you need to work out your back and quads, then visiting the quarry should be among your top list when considering an outdoor activity in Singapore. Dairy farm is one of the best places to experience real natural rock climbing. This site is home to hardcore pro rock climbers and a few companies with expert climbers who hold climbing workshops regularly.
2. MacRitchie HSBC Treetops Walk
Everyone in local school has run the MacRitchie Reservoir route and the park has been maintained as the main place to go for a trail walk and hike. To get to the tree-top is in itself at least a 3km walk one-way from any entrance you begin from. The free-standing suspension bridge connects high points in MacRitchie, and is mostly open from 9 am to 5 pm daily (430 last entry) and it never fails to reveal lovely views of the different layers of the forest canopy and flora and fauna.
3. Stand Up Paddling
Waves in Singapore? You gotta be kidding. You know what they say – when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. When there are no waves, go Stand Up Paddling in the still waters. 4. Go Hiking at Mount Faber
Mount Faber is the perfect place for some intense leg work. As you trek upwards from the foot of Mount Faber, there are beautiful views of cityscape, flora and fauna. At the peak there is a breathtaking birds eye view of Singapore skyline.
5. Go Biking at Bukit Timah Mountain Bike Trail
The Bukin Timah bike trail is a six kilometer mountain bike trail of fun and thrills and is the perfect place to keep tour adrenaline pumping as you mountain bike through the course. Slopes can get fairly steep and bumpy so make sure you deck yourself out in full gear and stay safe!
6. Explore Punggol Waterway Park
Do whatever you want (that is legal) at the Punggol Waterway Park! Cycle, jog, roller blade and bust out those push ups and sit-ups ad the fitness corner.
7. Walk with Singapore Footprints
FREE walking tour! Woah. Singapore footprints organizes tours which involves long walks to discover Singapore’s hidden gems and popular attractions, alongside stories of Singapore histories that come with it. This long walking tour is a good way to walk off some calories while exploring Singapore.
8. Trampoline Jumping Singapore
Amped is a place that houses a whopping 5000 square feet of interconnected trampolines. While it looks fun, don’t underestimate the amount of calories you’ll burn and muscles you’ll activate while taking part in this “kiddy” activity.
