It’s that time of the year again! For those familiar the Orchard Road Christmas Light Up is something that happens really early during the Christmas Season in Singapore.

We won’t spoil the fun by showing too many pictures of what you can expect to see at Orchard Road. The main areas that you should visit however, are Tanglin Mall for their Christmas Tree and snow show, ION, Ngee Ann City, Tangs Mariott, Paragon, and Plaza Singapura.

Other areas that you should visit for Christmas lights this season are Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, and the Singapore Zoo.

The tourist season is among us and be prepared to jostle with the crowds but it is all part of the festivities with street performers and ice-cream kiosks peppering the streets of Orchard Road.

If you’re planning on taking the kids with you, we recommend using an umbrella or lightweight stroller as the crowds may make it difficult to wheel around something full sized. With the year-end festivities comes the monsoon season as well in Singapore, so don’t forget to bring an umbrella or make sure you plan your wet-weather routes through the various underpasses. Virtually every building along Orchard Road on one-side is linked via an underground passage. The mid point that links the side of Ngee Ann City and the malls across the road can be found in the basement and takes you through to Lucky Plaza, which is a stone’s throw away from Paragon and TANGS at the Mariott.

Singapore has a very low crime but remember that low crime doesn’t mean no crime so don’t take things for granted and leave your valuables exposed to potential thefts.

Check out places to go and where to eat and things to do along the Orchard Road belt whilst you’re out enjoying the Christmas lights.
